Doing Dogs' Work is a community-led initiative advocating for a safe, inclusive, and well-maintained off-leash dog area in Wyman Park’s Lower Field. For over thirty years, neighbors, families, and their dogs have gathered in this beautiful space along the Stony Run to enjoy nature, build friendships, and create a vibrant, caring community. We believe that responsible off-leash recreation benefits not only dogs and their guardians, but also strengthens the bonds among people who share this public space.
Our community reflects the diversity of Baltimore—people of all backgrounds and life experiences who share two things in common: a love for dogs and a commitment to keeping Wyman Park welcoming, clean, and safe for everyone. Long before the park was in its current state, it was our community of dog walkers and park users who helped revitalize and care for this green space. Today, we remain proud stewards of the Lower Field and are excited to work together to ensure its future as a resource for all.
We’re inviting fellow park users, neighbors, and city leaders to help shape a positive outcome that works for everyone. Whether you walk your dog, enjoy a quiet moment by the stream, or simply pass through the park, your voice matters. Doing Dogs Work is about collaboration, connection, and community—come join us in supporting a thoughtful path forward for Wyman Park.
